The Patti Fleger Endownment Fund
Patricia Margret Lynne (“Patti”) Fleger was an outstanding and dedicated educator who served the Edmonton Catholic School district for over thirty years. An intelligent, caring and gifted teacher, Patti was deeply committed to the well being of her students. Her compassion, kindness and joy motivated and inspired countless children to try harder, to do better, and to reach their God given potential in the classroom and beyond. Patti’s innovative and creative initiatives (such as the construction of gardens and greenhouses….) were integral to the enrichment of student learning and achievement. Patti was a cheerful person with a warm and sunny disposition. Her enthusiastic, engaging and vibrant nature was contagious. It was fun being a student in Mrs. Fleger’s class. Patti thoroughly enjoyed and cultivated thoughtful relationships with the families and parents of her students as well. Patti was also a strong team player and valued member of staff offering support wherever needed. As an excellent communicator, Patti particularly embraced every opportunity to nurture, guide and encourage young teachers. Patti was a person of deep faith. She understood that teaching about the love of Christ was a privilege. On a daily basis, she lived her faith by example, extending her concern and generosity of spirit from the school into her parish life at Annunciation and the community at large. Patti was a committed volunteer with a number of inner city agencies including the Mustard Seed. Patti Fleger leaves behind an indelible imprint on the hearts and minds of her students and all others that she touched. We encourage you to join us and her two cherished sons, Brett and Shaun, in supporting this endowment fund. In doing so, we honor the contributions of a remarkable woman and ensure that her important legacy lives on. |
