Owen Edmondson
A graduate of Edmonton Catholic Schools, Owen Edmondson retired in September, 2011, after a 32-year career with ATCO Ltd. During his career he held several senior financial executive positions in Edmonton and Calgary. Owen completed his career as Executive Vice President, Finance and Regulatory, ATCO Utilities. Owen’s community life proved equally substantial. Over the years, he has served on the Board of Directors of several not-for- profit organizations including Catholic Social Services, Caritas Health Group, Calgary Catholic Family Service, Capital Regional Housing Corporation, and the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton. Currently he is a Director for the Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta and a member of the financial advisor committee for the Sisters of Providence. Married to Janet for 38 years, Owen is the father of four daughters, all teachers. In his spare time, the sports enthusiast travels, runs marathons, hikes, and is fan of the local festival scene. |
Henry C. Yip
Edmonton business leader Henry Yip chairs the Transmission Facilities Cost Monitoring Committee for Alberta Energy, and is Executive Chair at Nirix Technology Inc., an information technology service provider. He currently is President, C’andcee Development focusing on private equity management and providing strategic business guidance to entrepreneurial enterprises; he also co-founded the Edmonton Catholic School Foundation. Originally from Shanghai, China, Henry grew up in Hong Kong before moving to Canada where he studied electrical engineering at the Western University and received advanced management training at the Wharton School of Business. His extensive record of community service includes: chairman of the board at Edmonton Economic Development Corporation; assisting the small business loan review panel for Canadian Youth Business Foundation; judging panel for the Top 20 under 20 Awards; numerous board responsibilities for not-for-profit enterprises, the Alberta Science Literacy Association, and the Asia Pacific Management Program Advisory Committee at MacEwan University. His previous posts ranged from CEO, DriveABLE Inc., a health care services company with operations in Canada and USA; Executive Vice President, Network Services at AT&T Canada/Allstream; and several executive positions at TELUS. |
Dr. Mona-Lee Feehan
Dr. Mona-Lee Feehan was recently awarded Professor Emerita from St. Stephen’s College in Edmonton, where she is the former Chair of the Master of Arts in Pastoral Psychology and Counselling program, the Master of Theological Studies program, and the Master of Theology program. She is currently the Director of College Advancement at St. Joseph’s College at the University of Alberta and is a sessional instructor. Mona-Lee has a passion for Catholic education. She, her husband Kevin, and their four children are all graduates of Edmonton Catholic Schools. Her seven grandchildren will represent the next generation of ECS students with her oldest now in kindergarten. |
Rossana Saccomani
Rosanna Saccomani has been a civil litigation lawyer for over 30 years. Rosanna has also presided as part-time Justice of the Peace hearing applications for bail, search warrants, child apprehension orders and emergency protection orders since 2009. Her numerous contributions to community life include the Kids Kottage Foundation, the St. Thomas More Lawyers’ Guild, the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, Premier’s Council for Alberta’s Promise, Phoenix Multi-Faith Society for Harmony and the Children’s Health Foundation. Awards and special recognitions include “the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal”, the “Kevin Carr-Neuman Theological Award” in recognition of “outstanding Christian leadership and community service”, the Queen’s Counsel designation awarded by the Province of Alberta, “the President’s Award” by the Alberta Civil Lawyers’ Trial Association, the “Alberta Centennial Medal of Honor”, and the “2000 Woman of the Year Award” presented by the Edmonton Business and Professional Women’s Association. Married for 30 years, Rosanna is the mother of three boys. |
Father Romano Venturelli
Fr. Romano did his theology studies at the Salesian University in Rome and was ordained a priest in 1968. His priestly ministry started in Montreal at St. Dominic Savio Parish from 1969 to 1984, and then at Mary Help of Christians Church.In August 2000 he was assigned to work at St. John Bosco Parish in North East Edmonton. It is a parish that serves 1600 families. Many are recent immigrants from Asia, Africa, Latin America and other parts of the world. There is a good spirit of collaboration between the church and the Catholic schools of the area. The principals meet with the pastor prepare to plan various spiritual activities and celebrations for the school year.In August 2013 Archbishop Richard Smith asked Fr. Romano to be a member of the Board of the Edmonton Catholic Schools Foundation. As a Salesian priest, he loves working for Catholic education and encouraging others to contribute to prepare a better future for today’s children. |
Cindy Olsen
Cindy was elected as trustee for Edmonton Catholic Schools in 2007. Cindy was re-elected in October of 2010 and in October of 2013.As a trustee. Cindy has served on various positions on the Board including: Board Chair, Board ,Board Representative on the Council of Elders, Appointed to the Alberta School Boards Association Task Force on FNMI Education, Appointed to the City’s Community Sustainability Task Force and is a working group member on Mayors Task Force to Eliminate Poverty. Cindy holds a degree from the U of A and holds diplomas from both Grant McEwan and Ryerson University in Volunteer Management and Fund Development. Her professional background includes Social Work, Management positions with Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer Society, YWCA Edmonton and Alberta Science Literacy Association. She also was Sole proprietor of a business known as “Mother Earth Adventures” which brought learning adventures into the classroom in areas of science and social studies. She has extensive training in governance and has facilitated governance workshops throughout Alberta, She has sat as a director on many boards including Edmonton Social Planning Council, Community League President, Friends of Elk Island, and currently serves on the REACH Edmonton Board. Cindy is A Recipient of the 125th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal – this medal honors Canadians who have made a significant contribution to their fellow citizens, to the community or to Canada. |
Jackie Fetter
Jackie is a graduate of Edmonton Catholic Schools and currently teaches part-time in the district. Married for 19 years, to husband Jeff, Jackie is the mother of two wonderful children. Jackie is a member of the St. Thomas More Parish. She has taken an active role in her community supporting sports, the arts, and numerous not for profit organizations. She has actively participated in fundraising, event planning, and volunteering in numerous capacities bringing great enthusiasm and creativity to all that she does. Jackie was a founding member of FAMILIES4families a society empowering children to change the world one small act at a time. She blogs at family101, when there is a moment. Jackie is currently a director for the Cantelon Chamber Choir Board. In her spare time, Jackie is an adventurer; travelling and exploring sports of all kinds! |
Kelly Forner
Kelly is a born and raised Edmontonian and a graduate of Edmonton Catholic Schools. Kelly has recently concluded a 32 year career with Edmonton Catholic Schools. Kelly proudly served as principal of five schools over twenty years. Prior to becoming a school administrator, Kelly served as an Early Childhood Consultant, supporting class room teachers in professional development and classroom strategies for supporting children with special needs. As consultant, Kelly also worked with outside agencies to support the transition of special needs students into kindergarten programs of Edmonton Catholic schools. Kelly served as a principal mentor and on several committees to support and enhance school administrative leadership. In 2014, Kelly was awarded an Alberta Distinguished Leadership Award from the Council for School Leadership of the Alberta Teachers’ Association. |
Cory Almquist
Cory was born and raised in Edmonton and is a graduate of Edmonton Catholic Schools. His wife Gina is also a graduate and currently assistant principal with the Edmonton Catholic School district. Cory and Gina have strong ties to the community and are active supporters of numerous local organizations, charities and initiatives. He started his career in the financial services industry with TD in 1996, became an Investment Advisor in 2005 and in 2012 was a founding partner for the River Valley Wealth Management Group of TD Wealth. Cory and Gina enjoy spending time with their 3 daughters at the lake, on a ski hill or in a dance studio. |
Marry MolloyMary Molloy’s career, both in the public and private sector, spanned 30 years working in government affairs, community relations and stakeholder engagement. Mary also has been involved in the community serving on the Board of Governors of St. Joseph’s College, chaired the 2001 Sign of Hope Campaign, was co-chair of the Archdiocesan Cornerstone of Faith Campaign and is a past Provincial of Friars Gala. Currently Mary is a member of the E4C’s Board of Directors, Vice Chair of the Edmonton Diocesan Council of the CWL and a member of CSS Society Board. She has a BCom from the University of Saskatchewan and Diploma of Corporate Communications from Boston College. In 2013, Mary received the Kevin Carr Christian Leadership Award from Newman Theological College. Mary and her husband David McKinlay are members of St Joseph Basilica Parish.
