4,009 Students/Community Members Impacted As one of the six Funds supported by the Foundation, it is our hope that our Champion Projects help the children and youth at ECS to: nurture their moral and spiritual development; develop their leadership and team-building skills; and to practice their Catholic social justice responsibilities.
St. Mary |Leadership Clubs
This project focuses on enhancing existing leadership clubs at St. Mary School. Recess Club, which fosters safe and inclusive play, will use funds to purchase tools that support social skill development. The GLOW (God Leads Our Way) team, which plans school social justice projects, will use funds to purchase crafting materials that will aid their year-round activities. Gardening Club will use the funds to maintain the school's gardens and start a composting program.
St. Kateri | Sharing our Light and Joy with Others
This project will foster leadership skills and the sense of social responsibility. Grade 2 students will grow two flowers each from start to finish. They will then gift these flowers to seniors in two senior care homes, these visits will involve the students explaining the process of growing the flowers and what they learned throughout the process.
In honor of Holy Trinity's 40th anniversary, this mural will serve as a reminder of spiritual roots and the foundation of the school: the Trinity. Students will be able to participate in the construction of the mosaic, while simultaneously receiving lessons on the meaning of the Trinity. Once complete, the area around the mural will serve as a quiet space for meditation and reflection.
Monsignor Fee Otterson | Multicultural Day
The goal of this project is to support and celebrate the increasingly diverse and culturally rich student population of Monsignor Fee Otterson School. The grant will be used for various workshops happening throughout their Multicultural Day, including in-class hands-on activities intended to foster diverse cultural understanding and appreciation.
Archbishop MacDonald | Mac Bike-a-Thon
As Archbishop MacDonald High School's inaugural bike-a-thon, this 24 hour event will raise money for the Edmonton Catholic Schools Foundation, Catholic Social Services, and Archbishop MacDonald students in need. This grant will be used to offset the event's operating costs, so that all of the donations raised by the 380 participating students can be given to their chosen initiatives.
