Monsignor William Irwin -
Students and classes will benefit as they are invited to the hallway spaces with a cross and chairs to learn discipleship and to pray. The Alter cross and floor crosses will serve as a symbol and provocation for spiritual discussion and in turn, will foster deeper connections with God. Creating these mindful spaces will help students develop and strengthen their Catholic identity as being a child of God.

Our Lady of Peace -
The goal of the project is to build community. By enhancing the cultural component, (sewing regalia and purchasing drums for kids) the school will be able to increase the participation of parents, showcase the beauty of their school and create stronger bonds.

Father Leo Green-
Father Leo Green’s One Hand Two Hands project will expand their student’s understanding of social justice by allowing all students from kindergarten to Grade 6 the opportunity to volunteer their time or complete a service project. This service aspect would help students understand the different dimensions of social justice by going beyond monetary and material goods fundraisers.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel-
The main goal is to create an atmosphere of love, unity, and acceptance which results in the full realization that, through Christ, peace and joy can and will be achieved. The Creator's Courtyard will be used as an outdoor classroom and learning space, a place of play where students can build community and share meals, and a site for school celebrations including Mass. The students will gain a better sense of God’s wonder and love through nature and the arts, and develop a deeper understanding of His creation.

St. Rose - Drop Dead JulietSt. Rose is hoping to put on a student lead production of “Drop Dead Juliet.” This is a one act play adaptation of Romeo and Juliet that modernizes the ideas while retaining some of the original dialogue. This production will create opportunities for many students to get involved and help make this production a success. Students will design the props, sets, lights, and much more. But what really makes this project unique is the fact that it will be directed and produced by students with minimal teacher guidance.

St. Teresa -
The focus of the day is to reflect on the mercy of God on His people and how, during this Year of Mercy, we are called to be the face of Jesus by doing Corporal and Spiritual works of Mercy. A local ceramic/clay artist: Cherie Sliger will come and make clay crosses with the students that they will personalize as a momento of their Faith Day experience.
|
Anne Fitzgerald-Buddy BenchThe goal is to purchase a few benches which students can paint and design as "Buddy Benches" for the school yard. All students will have a chance to contribute their art work to the Buddy Benches. Once the benches are completed, the purpose is to have them as a symbol of what we can accomplish all together and the importance of including others not just at school but within the community.
|
Annunciation-Garden Of GraceThe creation of the garden will allow for numerous projects that will be cross-graded and transdisciplinary, in keeping with District Transform goals. Culturally, our Catholic identity and prayer life will also be enhanced by providing a sacred space within the school grounds. Artistically, the creation of the garden will bring an appreciation of God's works by celebrating creation and the gifts given to His children.

Mary Hanley -
The Student Leadership Team will prepare sandwiches for the students of St. Francis of Assisi School for Thursday lunch. The funding for St. Francis of Assisi was cut several years ago, and on early dismissal day, they are no longer able to provide lunch for students who attend daycare; they go home hungry. Mary Hanley students will make sandwiches, pack the lunches, decorate the lunch bags and write notes for the students. They will purchase the groceries, go to the school and make sandwiches with one of the classes.
